Discussion of job stress faced by librarians identifies characteristics most often associated with burnout, characteristics of helping professions that intensify burnout factors, and suggestions to consider for fighting the tendency to burn out. A personal account of a burnout victim (junior high school librarian) is included. Six sources are given. (EJS)
