Analysis of Black federal-level political executives since 1969 shows a significant increase in the number of Blacks holding presidential appointments. Black appointees are basically similar to their White counterparts in terms of social background and career patterns. In addition, they feel a relatively high degree of racial solidarity. (CMG)
