Four areas in child abuse research are identified, and suggestions are made for solving the problems. The following topics (sample suggestions in parentheses) are addressed: definition (extent, type, and frequency of abuse); generalizaton (expansion to more middle and upper socioeconomic status children); causality (longitudinal studies); and statitical analysis (larger samples).
