Self-Regulation and External Reinforcement in Problem-Solving Strategies of Black Adolescents.
Sewell, Trevor E.; And Others
Journal of Clinical Psychology, v39 n1 p39-45 Jan 1983
Examined relationships among self-regulatory behaviors, perceptions of social reinforcement from significant persons, and problem-solving performance of Black adolescents (N=33). Components of self-regulatory processes--self-reinforcement, self-evaluation, and self-monitoring--were interrelated highly. Perceptions of neither positive nor negative social reinforcement were related significantly to problem-solving performance. (PAS)
