Immediate and Delayed Recall of Incidentally Learned Material: A Comparison of Paradigms across Three Developmental Levels.
Elliott, Stephen N.; Carroll, James L.
Contemporary Educational Psychology, v7 n4 p357-64 Oct 1982

Incidental learning increased with age with or without specific instructions, suggesting that previously reported divergent developmental trends may not be the result of the type of paradigm.
