Based on the hypothesis that graduate medical training should support and reinforce the choice to locate in underserved areas, a Texas medical group examined the practice locations of 20 residents during 1975-81. Results show medically underserved areas to be devalued and increased value placed on practice in metropolitan areas. (MSE)
