Surveyed college students to determine the incidence and dynamics of abuse between premarital partners. Found a substantial incidence of abuse. Abuse typically began after some degree of commitment was established, and was usually caused by anger. Abuse was not always seen as detrimental to the relationship by participants. (Author/JAC)
