Motivations and Perceptions of Volunteerism as a Leisure Activity.
Henderson, Karla A.
Journal of Leisure Research, v13 n3 p208-18 1981
The motivations and perceptions of adult 4-H volunteers were studied. The most frequently measured reasons for volunteering were to be with family members and to help others. Most of the volunteers perceived their experiences as being both leisure and work experience. Generally, the more hours volunteered per week, the higher the scores in power, affiliation, and achievement. (FG)
