Studied work experience of the young male cohort (ages 14-24) of the National Longitudinal Surveys. Results indicated part-time employment was a viable early labor market alternative related to later economic and occupational success. Early career unemployment was not critical in retarding personal economic advancement but had negative job-attitudinal consequences. (Author/RC)
