A survey of directors of psychiatric residency training regarding the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) indicates substantial dissatisfaction with the NRMP as a mechanism for matching applicants with psychiatric training programs. Only 25 percent of training directors view the plan as satisfactory. Reasons for this dissatisfaction are discussed. (JMD)
