The Effects of Intra-Individual and Inter-Spouse Status Inconsistency on Life Satisfaction among Older Persons.
Hurst, Charles E.; Guldin, David A.
Journal of Gerontology, v36 n1 p112-21 Jan 1981

Different status factors correlated with life satisfaction depending on the older person's involvement in organizations. The negative effects of status inconsistency were not stronger among those experiencing recent traumatic events. (Author)
