Fantasy has proven successful in counseling situations in elementary schools. It can reduce fears, lower tension and test anxiety, inhibit acting-out behavior, bypass emotional blocks, help children find alternative behaviors, improve self-concept, elicit self-disclosure, and stimulate creativity.
