Using Sensory Extinction Procedures in the Treatment of Compulsivelike Behavior of Developmentally Disabled Children.
Rincover, Arnold; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v47 n4 p695-701 Aug 1979
Investigated the role of sensory reinforcement in motivation of rituals. Assessed the effect of sensory extinction for two children. Results showed light-switching rituals decreased when a certain sensory consequence was removed, then increased when that consequence was reintroduced. Different sensory consequences were functional for the children. (Author)
