Children's Hypotheses about the Animacy of Actor and Object Nouns.
Dewart, M. Hazel
British Journal of Psychology, v70 pt4 p525-30 Nov 1979

The children had to choose from several toys a suitable referent for a nonsense word used in a sentence. (Author)
