Do Self-Control Treatments Last? An Evaluation of Behavioral Problem Solving and Faded Counselor Contact as Treatment Maintenance Strategies.
Richards, C. Steven; Perri, Michael G.
Journal of Counseling Psychology, v25 n5 p376-83 Sep 1978
Evaluated strategies for enhancing treatment maintenance: behavior problem solving and faded counselor contact. Volunteer college students concerned about academic underachievement participated. Results indicated training in problem solving was effective treatment maintenance strategy, while brief fading procedure was not. Treatment effects may not last unless supplemented by effective maintenance strategies. (Author)
