Teenagers were questioned regarding perceived quality of parenting , personal adjustment, and political-social-personal attitudes and values. Those who perceived their parents as below average tended toward an adversarial orientation to adults and adult values. Mutual disidentification between parent and child may be an early cause of adolescent problems. (CP)
