The AAUP suggests that inflation, threats of retrenchment, and the prospect of collective bargaining legislation in several states have stimulated a new surge of interest in collective bargaining by college and university faculties. Over the next two years the number of faculty members covered by collective bargaining will increase steadily. (MLW)
