The Role of Animate and Inanimate Nouns in Determining Sentence Voice.
Dewart, M. Hazel
British Journal of Psychology, v70 pt1 p135-41 Feb 1979

It appeared that children prefer to put the animate noun first and this affects their choice of active or passive sentence voice. (Author/SJL)
