A reorganization and reanalysis of data gathered by Ronald Charles Frederico--who interviewed 146 dancers belonging to 12 ballet companies in the U.S.--to investigate the structural features of ballet as a profession. Four possibilities exist for a more general interpretative scheme for understanding ballet: social structural, phenomenological, social networks, and critical theory. (Author/JM)
