This article explores the collaborative process behind the development and promotion of "Anti-Racist Community Engagement: Principles and Practices," an edited collection produced by an interracial team of editors and authors of 22 chapters. Through reflective narratives and critical conversations, we highlight the transformative potential and inherent limitations of applying emergent methodologies in pursuit of epistemic justice. Our journey underscores the importance of authentic, horizontal relationships and contributes to broader discussions on anti-racist community engagement (ARCE) by offering a case study that emphasizes the dynamic, context-specific, and messy nature of this work.
