Dr. Lowenstein's contributions to the integrative-learning paradigm have substantially furthered the discussion, but more work remains. Advising practice remains inconsistently aligned with any single philosophy. This divergence between philosophy and practice must be resolved by changes in the structures and systems in which academic advising resides.
