It was predicated that subjects possessing moderate theoretical values would do better using a new self-counseling procedure apparently emphasizing rational, logical processes than subjects possessing low or high theoretical values. Results were interpreted as indicating that particular client variables may be influential depending upon the particular type of counseling involved. (Author)
