As higher education institutions around the country have examined approaches for sustaining teaching, learning, and research among faculty, this status report provides an update based on the January 2023 Faculty (Re)engagement Institute. During the edition of the January 2023 Faculty (Re)engagement Institute, participants worked together through activities that focused on defining faculty engagement within institutional contexts, identifying barriers, and recognizing what they can (and cannot) control at their institutions (Carpenter & Dvorak, 2023, p. 9).
