Assesses black enlisted participation in the Army through a presentation of trend data showing the distribution of blacks across the enlisted rank structure, and the assignment of blacks by military occupational specialities. The unequal distribution of blacks across ranks decreases over time but remains not noticeable. Blacks are under represented in technical occupations even when mental group level is controlled.
