This paper examines racial differences in life satisfaction for a national sample drawn from the 1973 social survey of the National Data Program for the Social Sciences conducted by the National Opinion Research Center. It is found that blacks were less satisfied with life than whites, although this phenomenon was found to be considerably less evident for young adults. (Author/JM)
