Merging Drawing-Based Questions with Automatic Assessment in Organic Chemistry Using Smartphones

The inclusion of the InChI or SMILES codes as a one-sentence answer allows web-based classroom response systems to provide instant feedback to some of the most typical drawing-based questions asked in organic chemistry courses. This paper discusses the implementation and scope of this strategy using smartphones as the only hardware requirement.
