Evolving State Approaches to Student Mental Health
Robert Anderson
Change: The Magazine of Higher Learning, v56 n5 p52-55 2024
Mental health affects not only safety and well-being but also students' ability to stay in college and graduate. The State Higher Education Executive Officers Association (SHEEO) has partnered with the Jed Foundation to create the Student Mental Health and Wellness Learning Community to develop state plans to support student mental health aligned to each state's unique contexts. State leaders in the SHEEO--JED learning community have pursued a range of approaches to address student mental health in their state. Individual states have also enacted a range of new laws and programs in recent years.
