Intertextual Psychoanalytic-Intersubjective Analysis in Qualitative Research: 'Can Two Walk Together, Except They Be Agreed?'
International Journal of Social Research Methodology, v26 n4 p425-437 2023
The purpose of this article is to further the methodological cross-fertilization between qualitative social science researchers and psychoanalytic theoreticians by outlining and demonstrating a method of intertextual psychoanalytic-intersubjective analysis (IPIA) in qualitative research. The authors believe that such a bridge between the psychoanalytic intersubjective approach and qualitative research will facilitate creativity and intellectual insights in qualitative studies, particularly in the data analysis stage. Similarly, they suggest that this methodological bridge may draw psychoanalytic practitioners and scholars to conduct qualitative research that will benefit from their clinical skills.
