Creativity and Innovation Programs Offered by AACSB-Accredited U.S. Colleges of Business: A Web Mining Study

U.S. companies have a growing demand for innovative employees with creative thinking and innovative problem-solving skills. This study explored how the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-accredited U.S. business colleges teach creativity and innovation to prepare graduates to meet the job market demand. The findings indicate that (a) 71% of the colleges offer creativity and innovation courses at varied academic levels, (b) 29% offer the entrepreneurial or innovation management programs at the bachelor of arts/bachelor of science degree level, and (c) 23% provide the master of business administration degree with entrepreneurship or enterprise innovation concentration. The findings also brief on 10 frequently-identified creative thinking approaches for innovation.
