Research supports that both political ideology and party preference are correlated with environmental concern. A sample of a university population revealed that Democratic and Liberal-Left students held more pro-environmental attitudes, engaged in more pro-environmental behavior, and viewed environmental problems as more serious than their Republican and Conservative counterparts.
