Cohen, Deborah Elizabeth
Technology, Instruction, Cognition and Learning, v8 n1 p67-96 2010
This article discusses a study that investigated the development of the Online Resource Selection Instructional Design Script (ORSIDS) and its efficacy in assisting college-employed instructional designers in guiding faculty with selecting learning objects for their online courses. The study established the value of teaching instructional design methodology to faculty members to enable them to define the curricular needs for learning objects for their online courses and to assist them in searching for and evaluating them. It additionally emerged from the study that more is needed along the lines of searching infrastructure and standardization to facilitate more reliable searches for learning objects.
