Culture Circles as a Practice of Freedom
Magill, Kevin Russel; Rodriguez, Arturo
Curriculum and Teaching Dialogue, v21 n1-2 p53-70 2019
This article is a discussion of culture circles as they might be employed in public school classrooms to promote humanization and transformational social participation. We suggest culture circles are a medium that teachers might employ toward human becoming and thus aid students in improving their communities through their shared examination of self and society. Finally, the authors claim culture circles and critical social examination must be inherent to public discourse if citizens are to pursue personal, social, and material transformation as values based global society.
