Student Perceptions of the Teaching of Principles of Management Using English-Medium Instruction
Li, Li
Journal of Education for Business, v95 n2 p115-120 2020
This article explores how university students in China perceive the teaching of principles of management using English-medium instruction (EMI). Using a survey and interviews after students' completion of the course, the study yields certain findings. First, case studies should be integrated into the course design. The CCTT (contextual, current, typical, and theory-oriented) principle is highly recommended for case selection. Second, the usefulness of quizzes in the course-design should not be overestimated. Third, students' mother tongue could be used in parallel with English when the teacher or students see it necessary. The study provides implications for teaching management through EMI.
