The express purposes of this article are to discuss the assertion, which is made here, that in the United States the Spanish speaking surnamed (SSS) population receives mental health care of a different kind, of a lower quality, and in lesser proportions than any other ethnically identifiable population, and to offer some recommendations for remedying this situation.
