Gender Achievement Gaps: Reexamining the Transformational Debate
Pedersen, James M.
Childhood Education, v95 n5 p74-78 2019
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has reported that boys all over the world underperform their female peers at school. This trend creates problems for this generation of males and could also pose unforeseen consequences for the next generation. A review of journals, magazines, and other media outlets uncovered a list of points regarding the status of how and why boys are under performing in school. The article discusses explanations of the apparent reversal of the gender achievement gap, and proposes strategies to address this issue.
