Big Dreams
Benson, Michael T.
Journal of the National Collegiate Honors Council, v16 n2 p31-33 Fall-Win 2015
The Keen Johnson Building is symbolic of Eastern Kentucky University's historic role as a School of Opportunity. It is a place that has inspired generations of students, many from disadvantaged backgrounds, to dream big dreams. The construction of the Keen Johnson Building was inspired by a desire to create a student union facility that would not only serve the physical needs of Eastern students but also awe and inspire them, and enrich their spirits. This article discusses why the value of an honors program lies not only in its curriculum but in the dreams it inspires.
