Professional organizations exist to provide specialized networking and development opportunities to a specific profession, group of individuals or field of study. These organizations are generally broad in scope and may have a wide range of interests among its members. To support specialized research and communication, smaller subgroups within the organization are often developed. These subsets, known as special interest groups, develop their own culture and processes for supporting the needs of the membership. This report compares the attitudes of members and chairpersons in the special interest groups that are part of the Comparative and International Education Society. (Contains 1 table.)
