In the traditional sense of the word professional, the occupation of trainer does not seem to fit. However, in terms of qualifications and competencies, trainers are moving toward that category. Sheffield Polytechnic is currently developing courses to help trainers improve their competencies through reading material, exercises, projects, and people. (DS)
