A means of combining the staff development approach and the accountability approach for pupil services staff was created by the Denver Public Schools in conjunction with the University of Colorado. A central city junior high school was used. The first step involved identification and formal statement of current functions of pupil services workers. The second step translated the role statements into a set of outcome statements. (EK)
