In efforts to place more effective social workers in the barrios and ghettoes, this program recruited potential college students from those areas, and provided them with support in academic skill development on-site classes; field placement; and supportive services. The most serious kinds of problem faced by these young people lie in the area of value and culture conflicts. (CJ)
