The Design Process...Do Community Colleges Have Anything in Common?
Cummings, William G.
American School and University, 45, 4, 38-41, Dec 72
Primary influences on a community college building design such as site, educational program, and budget produce building designs that are different in each case. However, because of the community college's unique educational role, these variables are multiplied almost infinitely. The three primary education objectives of most community colleges plus multiple educational objectives of students; limitless varieties of vocational and occupational programs, variations in construction funds, etc. all result in the production of a community/junior college building program that cannot be equaled or challenged by any other educational institution.
