Given the wide acceptance of n/Ach in current research as a critical non-economic variable affecting entrepreneurship, the present study tests Atkinson's hypothesis of n/Ach--that individuals with high n/Ach are more susceptible to changes in economic opportunities than their counterparts with low n/Ach.
