A survey of 67 data processing managers indicated a 34 percent reduction of employment for keypunch verifier operators due to the installation of optical scanning equipment. However, continued training of such operators is recommended since the skills are transferrable. A majority of managers predicted employment for more or about the same number of operators for the next five years. (CH)
