Annual Report on People with Disabilities in America: 2025
Andrew J. Houtenville; Stacia Bach
Institute on Disability, University of New Hampshire
The Annual Report on People with Disabilities in America tracks the progress of key social and economic statistics to see if things are getting better or worse for people with disabilities. The statistics in the report are from the American Community Survey (ACS), a national survey that is conducted every year that asks people about disability, employment, education, and other topics. The ACS' Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) was used to calculate the numbers in this report. Data indicators include: (1) population size; (2) disabling environments; (3) living in institutions; (4) level of education; (5) employment; (6) earnings from work; (7) poverty; (8) health insurance; (9) mass transit to work; and (10) age of home. This report complements the detailed tables of data which can be found in the Annual Disability Statistics Compendium.
