Angel Bohannon; Isis Owusu; Arvind Ilamaran; Marc Hernandez
NORC at the University of Chicago
Maryland is experiencing a shortage of high-quality teachers, and teacher turnover is a major contributor to teacher shortages. This rapid evidence review explores how Maryland can address teacher shortages by using multiple evidence-based strategies to reduce teacher turnover and increase recruitment. Online databases for research on teacher shortages and turnover were searched, and individual studies were also reviewed as necessary. The authors prioritized systematic reviews and meta-analyses from the last ten years.
