Evaluating the Effectiveness of Solution Tree's PLC at Work® Process and Student Achievement in Texas. Policy Brief. No. 1
Kristin E. Mansell; J. Jacob Kirksey
Center for Innovative Research in Change, Leadership, and Education
This policy brief examines the impact of Solution Tree's PLC at Work® process on student achievement in Texas schools. Using a quasi-experimental design and statewide data, we found that students in Model PLC Schools made meaningful academic gains, averaging 3.1 months of additional learning in math and 2 months in reading compared to similar students in non-designated schools. Gains were especially strong for economically disadvantaged students and English learners, and the effects increased with each year of implementation. These findings highlight the potential of sustained, collaborative educator practices to close achievement gaps and accelerate learning across diverse school contexts.
