Survey Research: Completely Structured Versus Partially Structured Training on the Angoff Method. Sage Research Methods Cases Part 1

Sage Research Methods Cases
This case study provides an account of my experiences and lessons learned in designing and implementing a survey research. The research was part of my doctoral thesis in educational measurement and quantitative methods. The purpose of the study was to examine the effectiveness of a Completely Structured Training compared with Partially Structured Training on the Angoff standard-setting method for K-12 teachers. The research was a 3-year long project (2010-2013). During this 3-year period, much attention went into dealing with the challenges involved in designing the study. My hope is that graduate students and other researchers would become more aware of some of the hurdles of managing similar studies while drawing some inspiration from the success stories I share.
