Yvonne Ward
ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University
The purpose of this study was to examine the influence counselors' counseling identity, mentorship experience, and self-efficacy have on their career paths and career choices upon completion of a doctoral degree. This study sample included 66 counselors, including clinical mental health counselors, rehabilitation counselors, and school counselors who graduated from a CACREP-accredited program with a doctorate in counselor education and supervision and had 2-5 years of experience in their current work setting. This research offered recommendations and implications for future research related to counseling, counselor education and supervision, and career decision-making.
