Purpose and Method of Study: The purpose of this single case study was to identify and describe specific accommodations and modifications used by a four-year residential proprietary postsecondary institution concerning their overall perceived effectiveness regarding academic success of individuals diagnosed with a learning disability (LD). The scope of this study was limited to five participants who were employed in a four-year residential proprietary postsecondary institution located in the northeast central region of North Carolina. Their years of work experience in higher education ranged from 7-25 years. In this qualitative case study, data was collected from site visits, interviews, open-ended surveys, learning lab observations, and careful review of institutional documents such as admissions forms, faculty handbook, school's catalog, school's website and social media pages, student handbook, and student services' forms. Findings and Conclusions: The analysis of the collected data revealed three themes as they relate to specific interventions that contribute to the academic success of individuals with LD. The following themes emerged: (1) supportive learning environment, (2) school policy and legislative mandates, and (3) faculty support. These themes provided the contextual framework in which the researcher derived conclusions from the collected data as it relates to accommodations and modifications that contribute to the academic success of students with learning disabilities. The findings of this study could add to the literature and help policymakers, key stakeholders, and educational leaders recognize the best practices to assist faculty/staff in implementing useful supports and programs for individuals with LD.
