ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, Keiser University
This study explores how servant leadership influences organizational commitment among special needs educators and non-teaching professionals. With increasing challenges such as high turnover and stress in special education, understanding leadership's role in creating supportive work environments is critical. Using a quantitative cross-sectional approach, the research surveyed approximately 500 participants, including teachers, aides, counselors, and specialists. The analysis focused on how servant leadership practices correlate with employees' organizational commitment and how professional roles might shape this relationship. The findings underscore the positive impact of servant leadership in fostering a workplace culture that values engagement, loyalty, and satisfaction. Differences emerged based on job roles, offering important insights into the diverse challenges faced by special education professionals. By addressing gaps in leadership practices, this study provides actionable recommendations for school leaders to support their teams better, reduce turnover, and create more inclusive and effective organizational environments. The research not only contributes to the academic conversation around servant leadership but also offers practical guidance for schools looking to enhance the well-being and commitment of their staff.
